Great Midwestern Brewery Tour

Introduction:

While some of you may have seen some of my posts from August 2013 on Facebook about my Great Midwestern Brewery Tour, I would be delusional to assume that anyone actually followed the trip with any semblance of passion or fervor. So I figured, why not do one big post about it here?

Thought Process:

As I was reading online, I came across a list (for anyone who knows me well, I am a sucker for lists) about the top 25 Craft Breweries in America.
Top 25 Craft Breweries
I noticed that 5 of the top 25 breweries were within driving distance of my home. I knew my time in Wisconsin was limited, and I had the free time, so I began to plan a trip.

The Plan:

As I laid out the optimal route to hit the 4 remaining midwestern breweries (I had been to New Glarus with Tony and his family prior)
With Nigel and the Frisbees
I plotted out a course that would allow me to see a friend in Kalamazoo area, to stay with my uncle and cousins, and then to see the Northern Mecca of beer that is Grand Rapids.

The Route:

I determined that my route should include some non-beer spots like a lighthouse and the filming location of Tommy Boy.

Now that I had my guide mapped out (more or less) I knew my trip would be a blast.

The Stops:

To hear about the trip, check back tomorrow as I finish this story.

**come on, am I really going to know the whole thing out in one blog?
